From My Classroom to Yours
As a primary Montessori guide working with children ages 3–6, I found that rotating materials every so often helped the children stay engaged and excited to learn. There is nothing quite like watching them walk into the classroom, notice something new on the shelves, and immediately begin exploring.
When looking for materials online, I often struggled to find a good balance of variety and consistency, especially resources that truly reflected the Montessori philosophy. Many materials relied heavily on cartoons or busy designs, while in Montessori environments we aim to use real images and maintain a calm, natural feel.
Because of this, I began creating materials for my own classroom each month, along with other teaching resources to support the needs and interests of the children in my environment. Designing work that children are excited to explore quickly became one of my favorite parts of being a guide, and now I’m excited to share these materials with other teachers and families.
